The Department of Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Surgery offers a full range of surgical and conservative orthopaedic therapies. The subdivision of the department into specialist areas, each of which is concerned with the treatment of specific disorders of the locomotor system, ensures that we remain completely up-to-date on the latest theoretical and practical developments in the field of orthopaedics. The operating theatres are equipped with the very latest in medical technology enabling us to offer the entire spectrum of surgical procedures when treating disorders of the locomotor system.
Conservative therapy also forms an important part of the range of therapeutic approaches offered. Physical therapy, for instance, covers kinotherapeutic baths, gym sessions, medical baths, electrotherapy, massage and the various forms of physiotherapy.
All requisite diagnostic techniques used to characterize a patient’s specific locomotor disorder can be performed within the department. Diagnostic methods include: conventional radiography, ultrasound examinations, computer tomographic and magnetic resonance techniques. Naturally, lab analyses and medical examinations are also possible.
